Equipment segment
Earthmoving & Construction machinery, in financial context.
Mobile machinery used to move earth, build roads and support construction work.

A useful starting point
Describe the machine before comparing its value.
Machines in this group vary by configuration, attachments, work history and condition. The comparison should fit the asset and the decision being made.
Make, model and market references are only part of the picture. A considered discussion also asks what the asset has done, how it is configured and what the available information can support.

Illustrative manufacturer evidence
Illustrative excavator evidence: identify the specification package.
No asking prices, used-machine comparables or value conclusions are inferred.
Caterpillar's published Cat 320 pages show why a model name alone may leave important identification questions open. The South African Cat 320 page lists a C7.1, Tier 3 machine and a documented configuration with a 600 mm triple-grouser shoe and 3,700 kg counterweight. Cat's separate 320 Tier 4 / Stage V page documents a configuration with a 790 mm shoe and 4,200 kg counterweight, alongside a 5.7 m reach boom, R2.9 stick and 1.19 m³ heavy-duty bucket.
For an actual comparison, first establish the product generation and serial-specific specification, then verify the boom, stick, bucket, undercarriage, counterweight and included attachments. Hours, service evidence, inspection condition, location, sale status and observation date remain separate questions.
Manufacturer sources
These are manufacturer-published configuration examples, not used-machine listings, a matched pair of comparables, or evidence of any individual machine's condition or value. The second page describes a different specification and emissions package; no South African availability or price is inferred.
