For lenders and asset finance

See the asset behind the collateral value.

Collateral value is only as useful as the understanding behind it. Worthify brings the machine, its context and supporting evidence into view when value forms part of a lending decision.

Decision context

Where machinery value enters the conversation.

A value is easier to assess when its asset, purpose and assumptions are clear.

01

Collateral review

Connect the stated value to the machinery being considered.

02

Credit decisions

Make the valuation basis easier to discuss alongside the wider lending case.

03

Portfolio questions

Identify where asset information or market context may need another look.

Questions to keep in view

Start with what the decision needs to answer.

  1. 01

What is the exact asset and configuration?

  2. 02

Which evidence supports the collateral assumption?

  3. 03

What could change the value over the relevant decision period?

Evidence in practice

Keep the market observation, appraisal and credit decision distinct.

These figures answer different questions. The International Valuation Standards address scope, bases of value, approaches, data and documentation, with an asset standard for plant and equipment; the lender's mandate and transaction terms add their own context.

  1. 01

    Asking price

A listing records an offered amount at a point in time. Confirm whether it is still available, where it was offered and whether it represents a completed transaction.

  2. 02

    Appraisal conclusion

Read the stated subject, valuation date, basis, evidence and assumptions together. A replacement-cost reference and a market-value conclusion do not answer the same question.

  3. 03

    Collateral and recovery context

A lender's collateral decision may also depend on its own credit policy, security terms and recovery assumptions. Those cannot be inferred from an advertised price alone.

Illustrative comparison, with no prices or value conclusion: two listings both labeled “Cat 320” may refer to different specification packages. Resolve model family, generation, configuration, hours, condition, location and sale terms before treating either listing as relevant evidence. This is an information example, not an actual machine comparison or credit outcome.
