Client advice
Bring the machine and its context into discussions about value and cover.
For brokers
Worthify helps brokers move beyond unexplained figures by making the asset and supporting evidence visible in conversations about cover, risk and value.
Decision context
A value is easier to assess when its asset, purpose and assumptions are clear.
Bring the machine and its context into discussions about value and cover.
Separate the asset details from the assumptions behind a stated figure.
Keep the valuation question understandable when circumstances change.
Questions to keep in view
Does the description match the machine?
Are the comparisons genuinely relevant?
Can the client follow how the figure was reached?
Evidence in practice
Ask for enough detail to identify the asset and understand the decision. The relevant information depends on the machine, insurer and policy; this is a starting checklist rather than a universal requirement.
Make, model, year, serial or fleet identifier, and the market or location where the machine is used or offered.
Boom, stick, bucket or other attachments, track or tyre setup, capacity, and any material changes from the standard machine.
Reported hours, service records, inspection notes, known repairs and clear photographs of the machine and material components.
The policy or schedule, requested basis of value, relevant date and the question the client needs the information to support.
Where information is unavailable, record that gap rather than filling it with an assumption. Confirm the insurer's requirements and the terms of the specific policy or schedule.
